Richelle
Richelle was born in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Her parents repatriated from Indonesia in 1953. They raised their children in a harmonious blend of Indonesian and Dutch traditions. From an early age, Richelle cultivated a deep love for Dutch literature, paired with an insatiable curiosity for the unknown.
Her travels across more than 50 countries enriched her life, providing her with profound personal growth and a strong foundation for her career in education. Drawing inspiration from her adventures in Africa, Asia and Latin America, she captivated her students with stories of her journeys and a global perspective that resonated deeply.
In 2006, Richelle embarked on a new chapter of her life, emigrating to Bonaire and later settling in Aruba. There she taught young adults for a decade while contributing articles to the local newspaper. During this time, she published a Young Adult thriller that gained popularity not only among her students but also in secondary schools across the Netherlands and Belgium.
In 2018, Richelle returned to Bonaire and unexpectedly found herself working in the government’s communications team. Despite her Caribbean home, she maintains strong ties to the Netherlands, visiting several times a year to spend time with her mother, who remains a central figure in her life.
Richelle consistently takes time for reflection and self-discovery, which enables her to explore new possibilities and provides her with the confidence needed to embrace the next chapter of her life.
